Enchanted Forest Erskine Embraces Educational Play Outdoors!

Our popular, enchanting nursery in Erskine have recently invested in a brand new outdoor learning facility for the children.

The introduction of an outdoor shelter will provide a new exciting classroom environment for the children at the nursery whilst encouraging learning and development in the great outdoors. The shelter has a weather-proof for use all year round and the roof provides both protection from the sun as well as providing shelter on rainy days! With seating along both sides and at the back, there is enough room for up to 16 children to sit comfortably together and learn.

Outdoor learning incorporates the entire range of learning experiences and allows children to learn and play in a relaxing, multi-sensory environment with the freedom to connect with the real world around them. It is hoped the new learning environment away from the indoor norm will motivate children to learn and develop in a different way.

Lynn Caruthers Nursery manager is excited about the new resource:  “Our staff and children were delighted to receive delivery of our new outdoor classroom.  We promote regular and daily access to the outdoor learning for each child in our care and our new classroom will provide an even better environment for this learning.  Our babies, toddlers and young children will all gain access to the new outdoor classroom.”

Managing Director, Mariessa Devlin adds: “After recently receiving Grade 5s in our Care Inspectorate unannounced inspection, we continue to look for different ways in which we can improve outcomes for our children.  Our Erskine nursery is perfectly located close to tranquil woodland areas, so the outdoor classroom will enable our experienced staff to further promote active learning within our garden area in all weathers.
