It was Father’s Story Week last week and Enchanted Forest Early Learning were busy organising some fun activities for Dad’s and Father Figures to do with their little ones in the run up to Father’s Day on Sunday 21st June!
At Enchanted Forest Thornliebank,Greenock and Inverkip the dedicated staff teams worked in collaboration with parents in inviting them along to the nursery to spend time reading their favourite storybook with their child and other children in that room.
With a commitment to working with parents in delivering learning experiences for children, the staff teams organised appointment times so that Dads and Father Figures could drop in when it was most convenient for them. They promoted the idea to parents coming into the nursery and in turn promoted the involvement of parents in the development of their children.
At our newest setting in Robroyston, a member of the excellent staff team recently attended the renowned ‘Bookbug’ training provided by the Scottish Book Trust. Taking away lots of information and ideas from this and with plenty of ‘Bookbug’ resources to use it wasn’t long before our enchanting reading area was put to good use!
Last week, lots of Dads and Father Figures came along to the nursery with their little one’s as they had their first free settle sessions. They took full advantage of the reading area and the book collection within nursery to spend time reading with their little ones.
Enchanted Forest continually invest in training for their staff in order to provide more learning experiences for the little ones who attend and this is just one example of how we really do provide the very best for each and every child.
Dads, Father Figures, children and staff all enjoyed taking the time to read the magical stories together.
