On Thursday 28th April our children and staff at Enchanted Forest Robroyston were visited by Kezia Dugdale MSP, Leader of the Scottish Labour Party.
The Scottish Labour Party requested a visit to Enchanted Forest, who were delighted to showcase our happy children, skilled staff team and beautiful nursery environment. Paul Martin the local candidate accompanied Kezia on our visit and was delighted to see the services Enchanted Forest offer to local families of Robroyston and the surrounding areas.
During her visit, Ms Dugdale took time out to discuss Enchanted Forest’s perspective on Early Learning and Childcare in Scotland with Mariessa Devlin, Managing Director and Lisa McGarry, Early Learning Manager. Thereafter, Katie Maun, Nursery Manager, gave Ms Dugdale the grand tour of the facilities, allowing her time to meet our children and staff.
During the visit, Ms Dugdale spent time with the children undertaking a colour sorting activity and reading stories. Given that the Scottish General Election is only a week away, there was much media attention surrounding the visit which meant that our children, staff and nursery were broadcast as part of the STV and BBC Scotland Evening News.
Mariessa Devlin, Managing Director commented ‘As a nursery provider, we always feel very privileged when asked to host such high profile visits. We are proud of the Early Learning we deliver across the West of Scotland and these visits allow us to show the wider community the great role our staff play in the lives of young children. It was lovely to meet Kezia who was very passionate about her messages and also very knowledge about the benefits of early years education.’
Following her visit, Kezia Dugdale MSP commented “I really enjoyed my visit to the Enchanted Forest Nursery. It provides exactly the kind of early years care that all children should be able to receive. Getting this kind of nursery education provides children with the best possible start in life”
