Minister for Children and Young People Plants the Enchanted Forest Tree at Official Opening!

On Friday 5th June we were delighted to welcome Minister for Children and Young People, Fiona Macleod, to our brand nDSC_0173 (E)ew Enchanted Forest Early Learning in Robroyston.

Having opened the magical doors of our brand new nursery to the public on April 25th, Fiona was given a warm welcome from Enchanted Forest staff, children and families.

Other important guests from Education Scotland, GIRFEC, Care Inspectorate and local authorities were also in attendance as the Minister officially opened the nursery and all were really impressed with the purposely designed nursery as well as the provision of early learning and childcare from the staff.DSC_0208 (E)

Nursery Manager, Katie Maun was joined by co-founders Mariessa and Bernie Devlin as she provided a guided tour to guests, whilst discussing the curriculum and her plans for taking the nursery forward. Fiona and other guests had the opportunity to join in the fun at Enchanted Forest as they spoke with staff and interacted with children in all rooms. We were delighted to receive amazing feedback on our nursery with guests admiring the learning experiences on offer to the children and some even taking the time to read with them in our amazing reading area.

Katie and her staff had also planned some fun and memorable activities for the Minister to take part in as part of her official opening. With the help of the children, Fiona eagerly donned some gardening gloves and planted a beautiful tree in the discovery garden of the nursery, thus planting the tree of the Enchanted Forest in our Robroyston setting. After this, our other guests, staff and children were involved in releasing some Enchanted Forest Balloons intoDSC_0111 (E) the sky: a great way to brighten the wet and windy day the weather had brought for us!

After her visit Fiona tweeted: “@EFRobroyston what a beautiful nursery with happy, confident wee ones. Thanks for inviting me and handseling new gardening gloves.”

In striving to set the standard for early learning and childcare throughout Scotland, having such positive support and feedback from key members of educational and care authorities provides our team with a great DSC_0147 (E)sense of pride in what we provide to our families.
